Watch City's "Watch City Slices" (Bulk by the Ounce)

Just ordered a lb. of this stuff. This Tobacco is one of my favorites… nothing else like it!

I’ve been exploring Burleys the past year having bought many different blends. To me, there’s the Haunted Bookshop type of blends and the heavier flakes like H.H. Burley or Solani ABF. HB always burned too fast and was a bit lacking in depth. This one is a daily smoker for me. I was hesitant with the rum topping but it’s barely there and does add to and complete this awesome blend. Doesn’t burn too fast, no tongue bite and great flavors. Got 8 oz this time and will get more when I come back to try Churchwarden or Rouxgaroux comes back around. :) - Peter - Radiant Pipes

Only a hint of sweetness in this blend. Nice burley flavors, but without the harshness I often associate with these tobaccos. By the way, I love the crumble slice format!

Smokes heavy, which isn't a bad thing. Just be prepared. Overall, I Like it.

The natural tobacco flavors are perfectly balanced, creating a complex, wonderful smoke that is consistent through the whole bowl and never gets tiring or dull. This is masterfully blended and and I find it to be incredibly satisfying. It breaks apart nicely and burns great. I highly recommend it.

Have you ever tried a new blend for the first time, and from the first puff it feels like you've known this blend for years? Well it happened to me with my first bowl of Watch City Slices. All the great flavors burley smokers crave (nutty, toasty, malty, molasses) with the added spice and depth from the dark fired. It has everything I've ever loved from the many burleys I've smoked in the past all bundled in a fantastically formed crumble cake. This 2oz won't last me long.

Watch City Slices brings the softer side of burleys which is a nice contrast to other burley blends out there that can seem a bit rough on the palate at times. It has a predominant sweet fresh baked white bread flavor up front that lasts the entire smoke. From about mid bowl until the end a baker's chocolate note is detectable. Some malt flavors are also present and a little black pepper spice can sometimes be felt more towards the back of the throat but this is by no means a spicy smoke. It lights easy and stays lit. It can benefit from a few minutes of dry time but isn't a must. This is an easy all day burley blend and a nice change of pace in that genre. The nicotine level to me feels light to medium.

I wanted to try Watch City's Slices as fair comparison to other blends that I favor. Based upon my initial smoking I can honestly say that this tobacco measures up to the mainstay house product offerings. This is a quality smoke, Nicely pressed varietals with a impressive and alluring pouch note. Very nutty-woody in taste bringing all the standard Burley nuisances to the experience. Burns clean and mellow. Great overall. I rated it a 4 out 5 given that Solani and Wessex are the benchmark standards. Slices is very comparable in its overall character and enjoyment nonetheless. Will definitely be adding this blend to most standard rotation of quality Burleys.

WCS has both the aroma of freshly baked wheat bread and the appearance of sliced steak. It burns slowly, smokes cool, and is probably the cleanest burley based blend I've ever had. I buy 8oz of Watch City Slices at a time so it's definitely good. Both a Chacom XL Canadian and Tilshead apple from my pipe rotation are reserved for smoking this special blend. Flavor profile? My palate detects hints of wheat bread, molasses, and rum. Get you some today and enjoy!!!
