As many know, The Rouxgaroux Release is quite hectic and can cause quite a bit of anxiety for both our customers and our micro-blending operation. To make things easier all around we like to remind everyone of the following Rouxgaroux Purchasing Guidelines.

 

  • One Pound maximum per Customer. Any double orders will be cancelled.
  • No phone orders...like everyone else at this time, we are understaffed and  just can't run a brick and mortar store and handle a large volume of phone and Internet orders coming in at once. (Plus, Nobody wants to work with Ernie Q. He frightens people). The only exception will be for those with visual impairment or those who otherwise have disabilities which prevent them from ordering on-line.
  • No special requests. Many times during the rush to check out our customers will forget to add other things they wanted to their cart. They will make a second order and leave us a note asking us to combine the two orders for free shipping. We cannot do this during special releases for logistics reasons (Translation- we'll wind up screwing it up anyways) We thank you in advance for understanding

The Rouxgaroux! The Cajun Werewolf. It prowls the sugar cane fields outside New Orleans looking for it's next victim.

Watch City's "Rouxgaroux" is based upon a bed of our "Simply Red" and a Matured Red Virginia. Rouxgaroux is an indulgent melange of flavors of stewed fig and plum. spiced with a generous amount of Perique along with some wide-cut stoved Virginia and a bit of Bright Virginia for a unique floral note that drifts in and out through the bowl.

1 Pound Limit on 1st day. IF it does not sell out on April 1st, Limits will then be removed.

    By far one of the best blends I have had from WCTC! This has been added to my weekly, sometimes daily rotation. So glad this comes back again in April.

    While I’m no expert tobacco reviewer, I am thoroughly enjoying this blend. Beautiful leaf, citrusy tart tin note, and a nice pepper note on the retrohale. Glad I grabbed this blend and look forward to getting some age on it. Smokes cool to a fine ash and, to me, is just shy of medium in the vitamin N department.

    I love this stuff! Main notes of citrus, raisin, and sour/spice. Lower notes of hay and grass with a Virginia sweetness. Sweet, sour, spicy. Very tasty.

    I had never smoked a Watch City blend, but have always heard good things. When I received the notification that Rouxgaroux was coming I decided to try it so I set an alarm. Luckily I was early enough to get in but only bought 2oz because I knew nothing about it. Well, it is now my favorite blend. Complex, weaving different flavors in and out but with some of the sweetest Virginia I've ever tasted. Next time around it'll be a pound. For now the little bit I have will be for special occasions only

    Greatful to Ernie for sending me a sample. Boston nice! Wonderful blend from a master blender. Hard to describe. Strong. Flavorful. Different. Best smoked slowly and gently to appreciate all the flavors coming through. I’m going to let it age over the winter so I have something to look forward to in the spring.

    This is the first time I've ordered Rouxgaroux and I'm glad I did. If you want great pipe tobacco, you can't go wrong here just read the reviews!

    Absolutely what I expected. Very smooth and enjoyable Perique blend. I am not the biggest fan of Perique but this along with Flake 558 are masterpieces. I only smoke Perique blends from Watch City...period.

    Rouxgaroux is another excellent blend from watch city! From the start the bag note is a wonderful aroma of tangy fig like dark fruit. It's overall presentation is a very nice selection of deep colors of ribbon cut tobacco. The character of this blend is a soft,tangy and sweet taste with a incense like room note. Sip at this one and the flavors come out! Very special blend I can see why it sold out so fast!
