4th Generation "Black Dot" (Bulk by the Ounce)

There's a sort of citrus-oiled/orange peel sort of flavor that aged red VAs take on; it doesn't taste exactly like these things but that's the best description I can come up with - it's very forward in this blend and something I tend to seek out in red VA's. It's heavy here, but not so single-note like F&T's Blackjack. The perique takes a backseat; providing a mildly peppery 'bass note' that gives the reds some foundation to build on. Whether the center 'dot' is cavendish - I don't entirely know, but despite appearing much like many other 'bullseye' VaPer flakes, this doesn't immediately draw comparison to them - it's quite unlike PS Luxury Bullseye, or Davidoff Flake Medallions - tasting something closer in character to Wessex' Curly Block, but a touch sweeter and smoother. One might be turned off by the price point - and it is high, perhaps too high for what it is, but I've found it worth the price of admission. I snagged 2oz of it, and will absolutely be getting more.

Great smoke, the Red VA's sweeten up the perique nicely, very smooth. No bite or harshness. Would benefit from a little dry time otherwise it will leave moisture in the bowl. I would purchase again.
