These are traditional clays. Once you get used to holding a pipe by the stem (The bowls get very hot) you'll be treated to one of the driest smokes ever with nothing but tobacco flavor coming through the stem. The bowls on the Williamsburg are perfect for stuffing flakes as they measure a mere .5" x 1.25" in the chamber!
