The tin note smells like a brand new pair of Timberlands. The flavor is bold and spicy, with notes of vanilla and oak. The retrohale is very smooth and has notes of lavender and bergamot. The room note is nostalgic, reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad smoked latakias.
As I'm working my way through many English blends, I naturally came across the classic 965. This may not be one to recommend to the beginner, but after several mild & gentle English blends one is ready for something stronger. Not only has this continued to confirm that I'm a fan of Peterson blends, but it is currently one of my favorite full evening blends. Depending on your preferences, you'll likely find this to be a fantastic evening to nighttime full bodied delight that provides that "something" many look for at the end of the day. Lets hope it stays around a long, long time.
