Appearing in Peterson catalogs as early as 1906, the X160 is a historic Irish shape defined by its deep, swan-neck bend and softly rounded, Egg-like bowl. In this one-time revival as Peterson’s 2023 Pipe of the Year, the X160 benefits from the factory’s modern advancements in finishing and quality control, featuring a sterling silver military mount and vulcanite Patent Lip mouthpiece — the final patent of which, this year, celebrates its 125th anniversary.
Peterson's most premium limited release, the Pipe of the Year resurrects a discontinued shape from the Irish brand's back catalog. For 2023 Peterson has reintroduced the X160, which dates to as early as 1906. It was one of the first Peterson designs to feature a P-lip button and served as the precursor from which a whole family of modern shapes were drafted. This release marks the first time this iconic shape has been available for decades, and it's offered here in the Heritage finish.
