Watch City's "Ahab's Comfort" (Bulk by the Ounce)

As a confirmed pipe smoker suffering from a nasty case of TAD (tobacco acquisition disorder), I smoke everything from Balkans, to Virginias, to English, to Scottish, to, to, to... Similar to what I imagine the evolution of most smokers is, I find that I reach for the purest form of tobacco unencumbered with anything other than unadulterated tobacco. Ahab's Comfort checks that box with conviction. Just as English is my preferred tobacco form, Ahab's has taken top billing as my Go-To smoke in that category. Fantastic stuff!!!

This blend is a comfort indeed. I don't exactly know how to describe it. It has the smoky incense quality of Quiet Nights, the rich full mouthful of Plum Pudding, and the tangy sweetness of Mississippi River, all rolled into one blend. I know that's not a very descriptive review, but I've never smoked another tobacco that reminded me of so many of my favorites all at once. This is an excellent blend. This is one I'll definitely want to keep in stock.

This is a well-balanced tobacco that is heavy on the Latakia, but because it is so well balanced it does not smoke like a latakia bomb. It has a chewy mouth feel, with a really nice smoky sweetness to it. While smoking it I also get wood, spice, dried fruit and a sweet nuttiness that is very pleasant. For me, this an end of the day smoke. I will enjoy this after a nice dinner with a Scotch or an aged rum.

This is my favorite blend in my rotation. Not just as far as Watch City, but my favorite blend above all others. While it does boast of 60% Latakia, it is not a Lat bomb. It is so well balanced that the other players come through and give a wonderful smoking experience. My desert island tobacco. A masterpiece.

Another winner here. This is a smooth, full-bodied smoke, that needs very few relights. As noted, this packs a lot of Latakia, which billows out in pleasant clouds. I love it. Great stuff, which I’d stack up against any tinned, big name tobacco. Ahab should’ve forgotten about the whale, and kept the pipe. His loss.

I reserve 5 stars for blends I do not want to do without. That said, I am just beginning my journey with WCC blends and let me tell you , these offerings do not disappoint. This is a wonderfully complex blend that deserves your full attention. I need to make room in the cellar, cause there is a new sheriff in town.

A truly incredible blend. Everything I have tried so far from Watch City has been just outstanding. Its clear that the blender isnt just a guy in the back room taking guesses, far from it. This is another masterful blend. If the description sounds like something you like, dont hesitate, its twice as good as you imagine it would be.
