Description

Named for the infamous New England Winter storms, Nor'easter is a blizzard of 8 different tobaccos including rough-cut burley, Perique, Black Cavendish. Turkish, and latakia. Similar to The Churchwarden, but sweeter and rounder. Offered in "Crumble Cake" format.

    Nor'Easter

Posted by Tom Smith on Mar 17th 2025

Watch City Nor’easter (bulk) Blend notes: “This is similar to our Churchwarden but with a decrease in the cigar leaf and perique, and the addition of some high grade burley for a slightly sweeter, nuttier smoke. Rich and full with round full undertones. Pressed into Crumble Cake!” Nor’easter is a delicious medium-bodied blend which Tobacco Reviews labels as an ‘American.’ What does this mean? Usually it means the blend is an English with the addition of Burley. The Latakia is upfront but does not overpower. The Burley brings a nutty, earthy structure that mellows out the Latakia. The Virginia brings some citrus and grass but is in a supportive role. The perique is off to one side as a bit of sourness. The cigar leaf adds structure. There is unsweetened Black Cavendish as well as some small amount of Oriental leaf. My issue with many American blends is that the many ingredients, at times, confuse the overall taste profile. Not so with Nor’easter. There is serious balancing of the parts that simply taste good. 4 out of 4 stars.

Smooth with a lot of smoke , humidity was to my liking. Flavorful to the bottom of the bowl. I bought a half pound and about to order a pound for my daily go too!

I have only smoked 4 or 5 bowls of Nor’easter so far, but I am loving the cool burning tasty character. Give this a try!

    Noreaster

By far, my favorite blend from WCC. Smokes cool. Very few relights. Wonderful retro inhale. Complex. Full bodied. Satisfying. I also ordered and received some Churchwarden, which I haven’t tried yet but which I understand is similar to Nor’easter.

    Wonderfully complex

Posted by KF on Feb 5th 2023

As the title says, this is wonderfully complex, smoky, citrus, nutty, slightly sweet (almost peanut brittle in the nut component) Well balanced, none of the tasting notes overpowers the other. No bite, burns excellently with no relights. Had a bowl I had to take a pause on half way, and no change in taste upon relight. This is the one I have been searching for. After trying over 100 english style blends, this is one of the keepers. I will say the room note is not well tolerated, but that is at the bottom of my priorities. It takes dedication, and integrity to make such quality blend, didn't pick up anything that hinted at poor quality leaf or production, thanks, such a thing is rare. God bless, KF

A chocolatey sweetness against a backdrop of soft Latakia smokiness.Further down the bowl a more Burley- cigar flavor starts to override the sweetness. The crumble cakes are easy to work with and the tobacco stays lit nicely.

    Nor'easter

I'm not a guy who can taste and identify all of the flavors in a tobacco, but I know why tastes good and what I want to smoke more of. Nor'easter will definitely be in my rotation from here forward.

    A Tasty Treat

This is the blend I go to when I want Latakia. It’s complex but not busy. It’s sweet and campfire Smokey and spicy with a hint of sour. It’s an amazing blend and I will be buying it by the pound!
