The main characteristics of this flake come from the 8% latakia included in the blend and the smooth chocolate aroma. Brazilian, Zimbabwe, Malawi Virginia leaf make up 82% of the blend providing a mild/medium smoke cooled with the addition of 8% Malawi sun cured and 2% Malawi burley. The latakia cools but does also add strength and aroma. The cocoa casings and chocolate top flavors are rounded off with vanillas and other flavors providing sweet notes.
Watch City blends are some of my favorite blends. Ernie is as good as other well known blenders with larger advertising budgets but his creations are small batch and not mass produced. I found some Bob's Ch Flake in stock and the order was packed and shipped quickly. WCC service is tops!
A staple of mine, mostly evening. Do not expect any chocolate aromatic, but your senses may hint of it. A nice, smoke, dark, woody, sweet, medium strength offering from the Lakeland boys. A great fold and stuff flake that may require a bit of dry time prior to lighting. I'm happy with it! You might like it too.
There is a sweet VA taste, & molasses nutty flavor from the burley. The Latakia is a nice attrition between the two, and provides a body to the smoke. Only downside is the Lakeland floral taste, though it subsides 1/4 way into the smoke.
