Description

All our twist tobacco varieties are manufactured by the same spinning process using dark fired wrapper leaves. The filler is again, predominantly dark fired leaf with the addition of a small percentage of dark air cured Indian leaf. They are therefore strong tobaccos. Same as Black Twist but "the brown form"... comes straight from the spinning machine, instead of undergoing a further process of cooling under pressure to turn it into black tobacco.

    English Curly Cut is Deluxe

In my near decade of my Piping Journey, I will quote Socrates; “I know I know nothing”. So I admit that my Straight Virginia knowledge isn’t in depth. I have had some that have a top flavor, like Capstan Blue which I enjoyed but couldn’t tell you with certainty if it was the Tonquin flavor, the tobacco itself or that I was branching out having gone from Aromatics to Latakia bombs to then Virginias. There are coins, there are some pressed curls and some just straight flakes all of which are chestnut brown to darker brown. There is a slight Lakeland floral smell, and almost a dark fired note that made me originally think it was akin to the now defunct 4th Generation Night Slice. Yeah, was wrong. In true English tobacco fashion it took a bit to get going and stay lit but it was worth the effort. The Virginias have a slightly citrus note, there is almost a molasses sweetness as well as an almost creamy mouthfeel. At moments I thought there was almost a chocolate note, others slight stone fruit. There isn’t much Nicotine to this blend, feels stronger than it is, room note is mild, and I for one feel like it could be an all day smoke. I feel like I need to investigate at least 8oz to really understand it, and may try to start a crowdfund donations to raise capital to conduct this research. It is definitely worth a gander just for curiosity’s sake and to understand nuances of different presentation of straight Virginia. Pipe Used was a Peterson Specialty Sandblast Nickel Mounted Belgique. As always, service from Watch City was great; shipping was fast, box was carefully packed and when I have reached out the response time is attentive and very responsive to reasonable inquiries. Definitely will be doing business again. Also it is to be noted that their house blends are worth it as well

    Curly Cut Deluxe

This is Virginia leaf paradise. All Virginia leaf rope tobacco, that has been aged up to two years in bales before it’s even made into a rope. The thin coins are sliced from the rope, tossed a bit and out the gate. Rich Virginia hay and zest. Medium to full flavor, with over medium Nic. If you enjoy Virginias you had better load this one in your pipe! Absolutely satisfying.
