Once upon a time our Blender Ernie Q. tried to make a blend that reminded him why he used to love Latakia. The result was this blend of Matured Red virginias, Stoved Virginias, Macedonian Prilip Orientals and Cyprian Latakia that has been "tempered" to remove the terpene-Creosote funk flavors found in todays Cyprian Latakia. A traditional Balkan blend that harkens back to the days when Latakia carried earthy nutty notes along with it's smokey herbal goodness.

I had purchased 4 oz. and liked it so much I later purchased a pound to smoke half and cellar the other half. This is a very good all-day English. I smoke Night cap, pirate Cake, many C&D blends of English, white and black night, Mississippi Mud and their kin. This one is a very mid type of English with enough oriental to make it different from the rest. Has enough Latakia, but by no means a Latakia bomb. very good blend and I suspect it will age nicely. We shall see.
I found this blend to be a very fine example of an English blend, with a very satisfying aroma & flavor. Highly recommended!
