Flake #558 (The measured distance in miles between Watch City Cigar and Richmond, VA, plus a couple extra miles for good measure!) This is another of our "Crumble Flakes". (A mixture of cut leaf with some whole leaf added, pressed and sliced thick). Similiar to our "Old Dominion" this rich, dark flake substitutes a rich stoved Virginia for the Matured Virginia. A wonderfully complex flake with a naturally sweet aftertaste is the result. Just a bit less Perique than Old Dominion.
This is a VaPer! This is a great VaPer. Pungeant but not overpowering, and burns clean as a whistle. Really nice example of a crumble cake VaPer.
This is a store highly recommended by a friend of mine. I haven't received the tobacco though since I'm not in the US. But it doesn't prevent me from giving this store a good review! I am very much looking forward to the tobacco in their shop! If you have the opportunity to go to the United States, you must pay a visit!

Whoever blends for watch city knows exactly what they are doing. Everything ive tried from them has been outstanding. Flake#558 is a wonderful Va/Per. Its nice and earthy smelling in the jar. Crumbles and packs easily, and the taste is a home run. This tobacco runs the gambit of Va/Per flavors. The Virginias shift from bright citiris and tangy notes to fermented and dark. The perique adds a nice light spice and earth to the blend. Some subtle woody notes in this one as well which i imagine is coming from the perique. EXCELLENT Va/Per and one that like Old Dominion scratch an itch you cant really scratch anywhere else. Bravo Watch City!
First-time customer of WCC here, and I will be back! This blend, 558 Flake, hits a really nice spot for a VaPer light enough on the perique to let the sweetness of the red Virginias shine. It's especially nice on the retrohale, as it doesn't give me that harsh "smelling salts" Perique hit that some others do. Ernie balances this one very nicely, and I appreciate the subtlety. By way of comparison, I also am trying Dominion Flake as well, but am not sure whether the Bright Va. or the greater quantity of perique in that one is less palatable to me. Either way I like them both, but 558 Flake really hits the spot.
I rate it a solid 4Star as received, but only because I prefer a bit more natural sweetness. So, I stove the 558 at 190 degrees for 2 hours and then store it away for a couple of months. 5Star outstanding !! Or, as my old Gunny used to say, "It shines like a diamond in a goat's ass!" A great blend that many will like just as it is, then there are guys like me ;).
GREAT tobacco, perfect balance between flavors, if you like vaper's, this is a MUST
