Description

A old venerable blend  preferred by Bostonians for years is here re-created from a jar of the original purchased in the early 90's. Many different grades of rough, pebble and Crumb Cut Burley are cased with molasses and extracts of plum and blended with just enough latakia to cool the blend and give just a hint of smokiness. This is an all day comfort smoke and a true old time codger Burley!

For anyone that loves burley, this is a great all day smoke. The plum and molasses notes are present but not even close to dominant, and the blend burns much cooler than expected. Enjoy it while working in your shop or reading a book under a tree, or however you like.

I began smoking DPE in the 1970s while in college. I can't understand why the original recipe cannot be found. This is pretty good but it burns hot and lacks the subtle sweetness of the original. Also the batch I got was very dry. Appreciate your efforts!

Another great blend. Smoky. Pleasant room note and taste. Pack it loose and smoke it slow and gently. No tonge bite. So happy to have discovered Watch City Cigars. Your deluxe crumb cut, of the three blends I have tried so far, is my favorite and reminds me of the “original” DPE mixture from Ehrlich’s in the 1960’s. I think it is about the burley.

By the fifth cycle of sipping I started to get the subtle hints of Latikia. It's earthy, woodsy, and smeels great in the bag. No nuances of plum or anise.
