Watch City's "Simply VOriental" (Bulk by the Ounce)

When a blend is described as containing "oriental" or "Turkish" leaf, they often mean it includes izmir. Now there's nothing wrong with izmir. I like sour flavor, and my favoriate cigarette was Camel non-filtered. So don't accuse me of any bias. But there are other orientals out there, that haven't had as much play until recently. We've been fortunate to see a good amount of basma that last couple years. Here, Watch City brings out Macedonian prilep as a refreshing change of pace. To my taste, izmir is more of a sour flavor, whereas basma and prilep are more vegetal, hebel, or even woody. Two different but related flavor profiles. Simply VOriental (and Pease's recent geometrie) should be considered *the* benchmark blends for the herbal oriental type blend sans latakia. If you're curious about orientals or are a confirmed oriental fiend, you owe it to yourself to stock up on this blend.

I was very pleased with this blend it has excellent flavor & aroma with a nice burn to it. Highly recommended!

Another amazing blend! This will become one of my regular enjoyments. Sweet and lightly spicy, burns cool and dry.

I've come to regard Watch City Cigar as a producer of exquisitely balanced blends. Simply VOriental is another example. The balance between the Virginia and Macedonian tobaccos is, in my humble yet accurate opinion, spot on. Neither tobacco carries the load, yet both are right there. In a lot of blends I have smoked, the various tobaccos seem to be duking it out for predominance as the bowl is smoked. In this blend the partners are dancing in and around each other - and like great dancers, they're making each other look (taste) better. I'm glad I bought as much as I could this past release. I'll be doing the same again next time. Highly recommended!

First time I’ve had this blend, it is absolutely amazing. I bought 6 oz, should have bought a pound. Has that sweet, tart, molasses, brown sugar Virginia flavor with some spice and complexity from the oriental. Virginia is the star and the oriental is an Oscar worthy supporting actor. 6/5 stars.

I tend to lean towards Oriental forward blends and this does not disappoint. Fresh from the bag it has its edges, but that is to be expected. I think that with a few weeks of settling down this will become one of my favorites. I will definitely get more when it comes back around. Another exceptional blend by a master blender.

I’m starting to sound biased but this is another winner in my book. Simply Voriental is a smooth smoke with a well thought out base of Virginia propping up zesty Macedonian. No bite detected even with a vigorous cadence. An all day smoke for me, easy on the palate, savory, with a depth of character that lasts throughout the bowl.
