I didn't find a significant level of complexity which is often associated with Private Stock. To my palate, it's relatively straight forward. Latakia has been applied with a light hand and any Perique is virtually nonexistent. This one is all about the Orientals, Virginia and Cavendish melding together winding down the bowl which produces a highly enjoyable medium bodied sweet and sour tasting smoke to the bottom. Has a pleasant room note which shouldn't drive others away. It works better for me in briar or cob over meer which is my preferred vessel for more Latakia forward blends. Easily my favorite of the Captain Earle offerings but not one I'd reach for if desiring a heavier Latakia experience.
