Beacon is our replacement Blend for our discontinued Old North Church which was in itself a copy of a famous old school Boston Burley. Beacon blend is a granular cut which is closer to the original than Old North Church. You will find it burns cool and sweet with that natural old world earthy and nutty burley taste. 5 Different burley varieties, a bit of sweet Carolina flake and just a touch of Latakia to cool things down!
I have yet to try Old North Church so I won't draw comparisons, but this is a very tasty blend. Nuttiness and subtle chocolate notes throughout, and a really pleasing aroma. Definitely one worth coming back to!
Sweet and savory woody flavor, smooth, with a bit of a very light smokey after scent lingering in the nose without tasting like a campfire. This isn't just the same old basic burley, and the effort shows. Good, full flavor without being overwhelming. Absolutely phenomenal blend, well balanced, no bite.
