Description

Two and a Half years in the making! A collaboration between our own Ernie Q. and renowned tobacco reviewer Jim Amash (JimInks), American Cut Plug Mixture is a Burley Virginia blend that harkens back to the old world Codger Burleys.

A skillful combination of different grades of cut-plug, crushed plug and Ribbon cut Burleys with a bit of matured Red Virginia Ribbon, ACPM is a true old-time comfort smoke. Hints of earth, sweet spice, cocoa and just a bit of that familiar red Virginia tang.

    Possibly the best "straight Burley"

    This one took a few bowl to really discover the flavor, as it's fairly subtle. But once I did, whooo-eeee, it's delicious. Medium bodied, without much of a topping I can discern, it's got a wonderful nutty flavor. It lights easily, burns perfectly & tastes amazing. It's like an old-fashioned codger blend, with the extra moisture & artificial topping removed. This is pretty much the perfect all-day blend.

    A mildly sweet bag note, nice chunky mix of tobacco, lot of Burley with a dash of red Virginia. Up front it has a lite cocoa note and slight anise spice in the back with a nice Virginia tang to finish. This is not a goopy aromatic, the flavors are just there and tastefully done. A very comfortable, easy going all day, everyday smoke.

    Very nice new blend! Smooth, earthy, natural tobacco flavor with a hint of sweetness and nuttiness. Very cool burning and easy to smoke.

    Adore this burley blend. It fits in perfectly with the WCC family. One of the smoothest yet flavorful burleys I’ve had. Zero bite! All robust flavor! Great stuff.

    An average codger blend with minimal taste that could be an all day blend. Smoked dry. If there is the quality Reds in this that are advertised, it may need time to develop. Or....it will go into the "Garage Blend" jar if they don't.

    Burley blends generally don't make it into my cellar but ErnieQ and JimInks worked so long and hard on creating this one that it seemed worth a shot--and it was. This really does seem to be a proper 'codger' blend, the sort of blend one might reach for when feeling nostalgic or when the feeling arises for a blend that fits like grandpa's old cashmere cardigan. Good stuff.

    The burley mix I have been longing for! Lights and burns great, tickles the soft palate enough that you know it's burley, and has enough nicotine to satisfy my jones. Between this blend, Old Dominion, and #558, I now need shop nowhere else. With a blend like this, burley may become king once again!
