Watch City's "Deluxe Crumb Cut" (Bulk by the Ounce)

This stuff is a flavor bomb. Its well balanced, and the tobacco flavor is still present.

I’ve tried about a dozen Watch City blends thus far and this one remains my favorite. It sort of reminds me of Ehrlich’s DPE mixture from back in the 60’s, but missing is a slightly sweet topping. I wish I knew what it was because that gave it the wow factor.

I was hoping for a great burley with a tad better burn quality than my usual PS Cube Cut. What I found was an English blend with a bit of burley that had had its testes removed. 45 years of Camels have blunted my taste buds a bit so burley with a good bite is what I prefer and I have a real aversion to Latakia so this did not work for me. If you are looking for a smooth English blend with a burley overtone this might be just the thing. Look onward to trying other Watch City blends as the 3 or 4 others I have purchased have all been wonderful!

a tad tough to get lit right out of the bag...drying a bit now. I am finding that in the warmer weather I prefer a tad more flavors...but excellent, no bite burley blend.

Nothing particlarly amazing here. Reviews of others always lead the purchase, and I admit that tastes differ. This blend was fine, ok, acceptable. Didn’t rock my boat, didn’t offend.

I need to always have this! Perfect for me!

So far this is the BEST burley blend I've tried, I could go on and on about how great the taste is, and the perfect cool burn that never bites or gets bitter, I could even tell you how my only complaint is I don't REALLY have a complaint because some times I wish for a little bit stronger flavor from the topping and other times it's perfect. But why waste time telling you that when I can just sum it up by saying do yourself a favor and get one of if not the best Burley forward blend money can buy

Carter Hall Prince Albert Mixture #79 Half and Half Sir Walter Raleigh Edgeworth Edward G. Robinson pipe blend Have you heard of, or smoked one of these blends? Of course you have, right? They are great blends that have stood the test of time. Deluxe Crumb Cut is a blend that covers all of those "old codger" and brings them into new relevance of pipe smoking. Deluxe Crumb Cut, has gently applied toppings that steer the tobacco in a non- offensive way. It's mildly sweet with a burn sugar/ caramel flavor carrying hints of molasses, anise and a mild plum red wine note that is consistent throughout the bowl. A hint of Latakia plays in and out throughout, never overbearing. The "Crumb" cut is not particularly unusual in itself, however provides easy packing with a gravity fed method and burns consistently to the bottom of the chamber. The blend is of a good smoking moisture level and leaves little if none behind. Deluxe Crumb Cut is a well orchestrated blend that give a respectful nod to old stable blends, similar and completely different at the same time. Very good blend!

Very nice burley blend. I experienced no bite. It has a pleasant room note and taste. I would definitely buy it again. This is my first experience with Watch City blends and I look forward to trying other mixtures as well.

At the beginning of my first smoke of this, I thought "whatever, kinda nostalgic but whatever". Then, as I got further into the bowl, that changed to " this is fantastic!" To me, this is what I wanted all of the OTC "old codger" burley blends to be, but they never were. The burley is out front and it is unusually great. The flavors support it perfectly. Burns nicely, packs easily, zero tongue bite, I ended up smoking the initial 2 oz I bought steadily while ignoring my usual, regular tobaccos. I just placed a large order for more for good reason, this is a great tobacco. You guys at Watch City made me happy with this tobacco and I highly recommend it.
