Watch City's "Persian Slipper" (Bulk by the Ounce)

Very rarely am I impressed enough by a pipe tobacco to feel compelled to write a review. Over my nearly 30 years of pipe smoking Balkan blends have become my favorite. I have read many good reviews of Persian Slipper but I don’t think it’s possible to describe how perfect it is in every way, to my palate anyway, but I’m going to try. Actually, if you like Balkans at all I would be amazed if this doesn’t instantly become a favorite. The mouth feel is full, creamy and rich, there’s a slight background sweetness as well. None of the components stand out individually, instead they are all gloriously married creating the smoothest, easiest smoking blend one could wish for. Deliciously full and did I mention creamy? Not the slightest hint of a bite in the bowl. I would recommend this blend to anyone, regardless of their normal smoke. Have I mentioned that I absolutely love this stuff? I received the quarter pound I ordered yesterday, I had a strong feeling this was going to be a blend I would enjoy just from the description but now I’m wishing I had ordered a full pound. Maybe two. Please, Watch City Cigars, never stop producing this blend!!!

I’ve taken to this tobacco so well it’s even stopped me buying some of my favourite go to morning tobacco’s Persian slipper mmmmm

This is a well balanced oriental blend no one component dominates the blend. I smoke a lot of English blends early in my pipe life and rarely now. I don't really notice the latakia in this blend. Easily an all day smoke. I can go on about this flavor or that but really, just try it, you will not be disappointed even if you are a straight Virginia snob.

Like smoking a magic carpet!

I was expecting this to be just another latakia blend. But it's really something else... in a good way! Yes, latakia is present, but Persian Slipper is a smooth flavorful easygoing oriental-forward blend. Only drawback (minor) is that it's hard to light. (Fresh out of the bag, it needs just a bit of drying time.)

Very smooth blend. I like the nutty aromas and a certain hint of coffee.

…buy all the Persian Slipper you can afford. So very good. So very smokable - any time, all the time - from the top to the bottom of the bowl. I won’t go into a this-component-does-this-that-component-does-that review. JimInks has that very well covered. What I will say is that all the components are doing what they’re supposed to do very well indeed. Get some and, after you smoke it, don’t thank me. Thank the folks at WCC for this transcendent blend.

My search for the best Balkan has been found. Persian Slipper is a smooth cool burning all day smoke. Anyone who enjoys oriental forward blends will not be disappointed with this tobacco.

I'm fairly new to a pipe, so take it for what it's worth. I bought Persian and Glass Slippers and tried them both out with my brother. I very much enjoyed the Persian. My brother preferred the Glass. Normally, I prefer English blends and he does not, and I think that makes sense here, as I got a very English vibe from the Persian even though I am not used to burley in them. It has some good flavor to it, has good smoke. I can definitely see this becoming a daily blend.
