Description

It took us years to find a cut of Burley that had the right balance of flavor and burn quality . Too often even the best quality ribbon burns too hot, and cube-cut tends to not burn at all. This is presented in what we call a crumb-cut- a rough style hallfway between a flake and a cube cut. It burns cool and, with our special Burley mellowing process, smokes sweet, earthy and nutty to the bottom of the bowl. A measure of Green River Black is added for touch of natural caramel like flavor.

    Oh so good

This stuff is stellar. It might turn out to be the one thing I cellar most. Perfect from start to finish. My only qualm is that some of the cube cut doesn't burn all the way down, but that's just fine. One of the finest burley blends out there.

I'm not much of an areo but this one is great, barely an areo.

Crumb Cut Maybe, But Crumbs, Definitely Not

This blend may be turning into one of my go to tobaccos. It reminds me of Sutliff's Match Ready Rubbed but with a subtler intensity (if that makes any sense). The burley shines without overpowering. The cavendish lends a sweet note. There is something going on with a cocoa/coconut note that is very pleasant and consistent throughout the smoke. Simply put, this is superb blend for those who are chasing a great burley smoke. For those who don't think they like burley all that much, give Deluxe Crumb Cut a try, you might find you just like it!

Like most pipe smokers when I started smoking pipes 40 yrs ago it was the IQ type of wet mess that burns the tongue and soaks the pipe. This tobacco is not that. There is a beautiful burley that smokes cool and creamy through the entire bowl, you can actually taste the tobacco while the top note plays in and out. Smokes dry with a white fluffy ash. I smoke SG and G&H flakes predominantly but I can see this as my morning smoke with a nice cup of java every day. A true testament to the art of blending.

This stuff is the best. My new favorite. Smooth, flavorful, and repeatable. Great. Give it a try.

    Deluxe Crumb Cut

Deluxe Crumb Cut is everything I thought an aromatic would be when I first picked up a pipe (the reason why I initially -- innocently -- went for aromatics when first starting with the pipe). Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut is a preposterously incredible, delectable creation. Of course you’re going find something as exotic as tonquin bean in a modern haute blend like Deluxe Crumb Cut. How else could one explain a blend with such an exquisitely decadent tin note, so utterly resplendent with notes of cocoa, vanilla, caramel and dark honey? And the smoke -- Oh my . . . Hoardable.
